Laundry Room Makeover Continued and A Cupcake Surprise

Remember this from my Laudryroom Makeover?  Well, while I was walking through Walmart a couple of weeks ago I ran across my storage container solution for my shelves.  I had previously gathered up all my baskets to use on these shelves and didn't have enough.  I've been looking for baskets to use on the lower shelf that were all the same size and I couldn't find what I needed and the prices for at least six baskets was a lot higher than my Walmart purchase.
These red and yellow oval shaped tubs were only $4.99 each!  The cheapest baskets I could find, even 1/2 price at Michaels, were $10.00 each.  These will be much easier to wipe out and keep clean.  I hope to eventually make new liners for the baskets on the center shelf and do something to make the wires shelving look nicer.
You can view my other "Laundry Room Makeover" post here and my "Laundry Room Curtain Tutorial" here.

Last week my husband surprised me with some beautiful yummy cupcakes from Cupcake À La Mode in Kansas City, MO.   I have never had a cupcake from a cupcake shop before, which may sound strange since I've been painting cupcakes for quite some time. My husband was in the Plaza area and saw this shop and decided to surprise me.  I got so excited that I cut through the seal before I got to take a picture!

This one was my favorite!
According to their description this one is:
ChocoLatte
Chocolate cupcake topped with mocha java buttercream icing and a swirl of french vanilla buttercream icing, a sprinkling of grated semi-sweet chocolate and a chocolate covered espresso bean on top.

The last one I ate was:
Marshmallow Fondue
Chocolate cupcake topped with a layer of smooth, semi-sweet chocolate, a swirl of marshmallow creme icing, a sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs and a gourmet chocolate covered graham cracker on top.

I was nice and let my husband have this one:
After Dinner Mint
Chocolate cupcake topped with white chocolate peppermint buttercream icing and covered in finely grated semi-sweet chocolate.  He let me taste it.

and this beauty is:
Bella Nutella
Chocolate cupcake topped with a layer of creamy Nutella, a swirl of chocolate hazelnut buttercream and a Rocher chocolate covered hazelnut truffle & chocolate hazelnut pirrouhette cookie on top.

I must have gained several pounds by this point!
It was well worth it I must say!
Have you ever been lucky enough to visit a "Cupcake Shop"?

  2. No, I never have visited a cupcake shoppe before. As pretty as these are, I love yours more. (I can imagine how tasty these treats were...hmmmm...)

Love your solution for the laundry shelf. They look sweet and, as you say, so much easier to keep clean than the baskets and the price was right!
