Rainy Day Boots & Classic Cupcakes Painting

A while back I was reading Aunt Ruthie's Sugar Pie Farmhouse blog and she mentioned her chicken wellies that she got at Gardener's Supply.  These are seconds that they are selling for 1/2 price because the chicken design is a little stretched around the foot area.   I seem to have a wellie addiction!  Who knew there were so many cute designs?
These fit even better than my red and white polka dot wellies!  I parked them right beside my umbrella stand that I painted many moons ago.  Click on the photos for a closer view.
See the two little girls in the yellow and blue rain coats and umbrellas jumping in the puddles on the umbrella stand?
Tonight I listed this new cupcake painting, "Classic Cupcakes" on eBay.
Nothing beats the flavor of cupcake classics like chocolate with chocolate chip frosting, white with buttercream frosting, and a caramel center cupcake topped with caramel frosting and a drizzle of syrup!

Wish I had more time to paint because ideas are pumping into my little brain at lightening speed.  It will just have to wait because I'll be spending this week preparing for Easter dinner and the celebration of a risen Lord~

House Portrait

This past Saturday we got a call that my father in law was in a motorcycle accident. Needless to say, we have been gone all week and just returned home last night. The poor man broke all his ribs on the right side and his right collar bone. One of his ribs also punctured his lung. He was in ICU until Wednesday and is now starting to show improvement. Just wanted to ask for your prayers and to let you know the reason why I may not be posting very often for a while.
I received the photo below from Devon who requested a "house portrait" as a present for her parents. Here they are standing in front of the house and holding their portrait in front of them. Aren't they cute!! It was a pleasure to do this painting of their lovely home.
John and Vicki Bushnell live in this cozy home surrounded by beautiful flowers and tall evergreens. They are a hardworking couple, but in his spare time John is a woodworker and dabbles in photography. Vicki loves to decorate cakes and their home always has the sweet scent of frosting. When she isn't busy in the kitchen, Vicki is creating something at her sewing machine. They've always worked well together as a couple doing various remodeling projects on their beautiful home.

Sugar Plum Bakery Folk Art Painting and a Giveaway Painting!

"Sugar Plum Bakery" is the newest addition to my Ebay auctions.

Auralee's grandmother taught her to bake when she was a young girl and she turned this talent into a business. Very early in the morning the sweet scent of bakery confections and coffee concoctions drifts through the air guiding loyal customers to the Sugar Plum Bakery. Customers feel that the climb up the hill each morning and the descent down help to alleviate the added calories that her tasty treats cause. Her motto is proudly displayed in her shop, "Life is a dessert, sweet and satisfying". A black and white checked border surrounds the scene. Auralee's motto is lettered in black on a clay, red textured border. A coordinating black and white ribbon is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and is tied in a bow at the top.

Click on the photos for a closer view.

Remember life is a dessert so savor it!

Chocolate Pecan Cupcake Painting

Looks as if I need to be doing paintings of fruit, vegetables, slimfast, etc. This time of year I start to feel the tug of jeans that are too tight and shirts that have become too snug. I'm sure this extra weight is due to inactivity and painting all the time. Painting these cute little cupcakes isn't helping either. Getting out in the garden during the spring and summer usually gets me back into shape pretty quickly because I'm not inside with the frig. Hurry up Spring!!
This cute little "Chocolate Pecan Cupcake" is now listed in my eBay auctions. The bow is bright red even though it may appear to be hot pink in this photo.
This yummy chocolate pecan cupcake is filled with chocolaty, nutty goodness. Decorate your kitchen with this cupcake piled high with mint green frosting topped with red roses. The border is painted a pale yellow and is accented with black and white checks and tiny red roses. A black tag is painted at the top labeled "Chocolate Pecan". A bright red grosgrain ribbon with white dots is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and tied in a bow at the top.
I've also listed this little 6" x 6" spring painting:
"Greenbriar Lane"

When a gentle breeze is in the air, people walking down Greenbriar Lane and neighbors with open windows, are entranced by the sweet scent of Miss Effie's flowers. She has won first prize at the county fair the past two years for her beautiful pink roses. She loves to teach the neighbor children how to garden and treats them to lemonade and orange frosted cookies for their help. Miss Effie is then showered with hugs and kisses.

Kreativ Blogger Award and a New Little Painting

I'm so sorry that I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blogging. I feel like I'm running around with a brush in my hand all the time, but that's what I truly love! Tonight I added this new little 4" x 4" painting to my eBay auctions.
Description from the Bible Concordance: a title of endearment

Bob and Mona have known each other since they were little children. They were neighbors and walked to school together. They started dating in high school and were married not long after they graduated. The two newly weds purchased a little cottage and made it their own where they raised two children and a variety of pets. They know that their "Beloved Lord" has blessed their lives and hope they can be worthy of his grace.

This past week Tammy from Art and Inspirations, sent me this Kreativ Blogger Award. Thanks Tammy! Please check out her blog she is the creative one and I was lucky enough to be a recipient of one of her giveaways.

Spring Folk Art Paintings

Since I've been busy the past two weeks with commissioned paintings, I haven't had time to paint anything new for my eBay auctions. I've decided to share some of my spring paintings that I sold last year. With the wind howling outside and the snow falling, the idea of knowing that spring is just around the corner really lifts my spirits.
Flower catalogs arrive in the mail and beckon me to make new purchases for my gardens and draws me away from my drafting table. I planted new thornless climbing roses late last year and can't wait to see the pink petals climbing over my wooden fence. With all the inspiration from spring garden catalogs and magazines, you can expect many more "new" spring paintings with lots of beautiful flowers soon. My brush is just itching to get moving!!

Spring Fairy Cottage Folk Art Painting

I had quite a "good" time with this little painting. It makes me want to get outside and plant some flowers! Although with the snow on the ground, that's not likely to happen. Painting these little gardens gives me so many ideas for my own yard. It would especially be nice to have some fairies to help me with it!
This house belongs to my dear friend and neighbor, Linda. I changed things by adding flowers, porch furniture, and moving her home to the country. She also gained a stained glass studio in her back yard! Won't she be surprised. I've had a few people recognize their homes in my paintings even though I change the surroundings. Fairy Cottage is a magical place where flowers bloom profusely and gardens are always tidy. Miss Linda resides here and loves to tell spendid stories of tiny delicate fairies to her grandchildren. She weaves her magical tales where fairies create beautiful stained glass in her art studio and they garden by night. Fairies, always "neat" by nature, clean up their messes in the studio and finish up pieces that she has started but can't seem to complete.
