Sad News

Our dog, sweet Annie The One Eyed Wonder Dog, has been diagnosed with a tumor, hemangiosarcoma,  the size of a volley ball. I will be away from my blog to be with her. You can view Annie's blog here

Four Cupcake Paintings and a Notecard Party

It's that time again!  Vee is hosting her July Notecard Party.  Come and join the fun by picking four photos that you have previously posted on your blog that would make great notecards.  I'm not sure that these qualify, but I wanted to include some of my cupcake paintings this time.

Folk Art Clouds

I've got my head in the clouds today.....

I took a vote the other day on my Facebook page.  Should my next painting be a large autumn scene or a cupcake?  The majority wanted an autumn folk art scene.
So since clouds are rather messy, and I paint from the top down, this is what I did today....

Want to see what house is going to be in this painting?

I think this house is in Long Island.  I'm not very good at organizing my photos.  A  a huge pile of photos is stacked nearby to go through and it's always a hard decision, but something about the photo usually jumps out at me. I invision this painting with a large red maple tree and leaves thrown upon the ground scattering and nesting into crooks and crannies, large pumpkins, maybe jack o lanterns, & possibly a pile of leaves burning.......and then again I may go off in a completely different direction.

My Toolbox

How many of you ladies out there have your very own toolbox?
I painted this folk art piece back in 1998 and haven't been able to part with it.  And yes, I do keep my tools in there.  In fact I just used that hammer to make a project for my daughter and son in law.  I'll share it with you after they've seen it.

Come and Join Me In The Garden

I've been playing in the garden this morning and found this little visitor trying to enter the church.  You'd think he would try the rather large door below.   Maybe he's just peeking in on the congregation.  Not sure if it's a huge fly or what it is.

I'm thinking it a large fly with very fancy wings...

I've been editing my photos today with PicMonkey and have been pretty happy so far.

At 6:30 am every day I'm up and watering to try and keep everything alive in this sweltering heat.

My grass is fried but my petunias are still happy!

The impatiens are pretty happy as well...

I'm also having fun making collages on PicMonkey...

Is your grass fried?  I'm talking about your lawn.

A Folk Art 4th of July

What are you doing on the 4th of July?  Don't you just love to see that flag proudly waving in the breeze?

Are you going to the beach, visiting family, watching fireworks, having a cookout or maybe a picnic, making homemade ice cream?  Whatever you do stay safe and have a great day!
