Cupcake Painting Makeover

I listed this painting before Christmas on Ebay.  I kept rushing this painting as I mentioned in a previous post.  You'd think I'd learn my lesson.  But against my better judgement, I went ahead and listed it.   There is way too much empty space in this painting and I knew the vision I had in my mind, but I just wasn't taking the time to finish it that way.  The Christmas rush was on and now I still own this painting.

This is how it looks today:

What do you think?  Am I truly done?

is now up for auction on Ebay.

  1. Yes, you are truly done. Perfection.

  2. I agree with Irene. I love the whole cupcake theme and cupcake tier stand to begin with, but it looked a little lonesome without a background.

Now that you've added in the lettering behind it, I think it looks super fantabulous, and even more delicious than it did before the makeover. I love it, and I'm pretty sure you're going to have a few bids on this if you've got it on as an auction, or a very quick sale if it's a 'Buy it Now' offer. Either way, well done! I love it. I also love how you've got the lettering distressed/faded in the background, giving it a very gentle and easy-going feel to the whole composition. Lovely!

And happy new year to you, as well. Mmmmmm....looking at this for the past few minutes has got my sweet tooth begging me to buy (or bake) some cupcakes right at this moment - I would, except for the fact that it's just gone midnight, and my pillow is also calling my name. Thanks for sharing this, Catherine.
