We'll Miss You Eric

I'm a little down in the dumps because we took our son, Eric, to the airport.  He is returning to Spain to teach for another school year.  Eric teaches conversational English to grade school students and he loves it.  You can follow his blog here where he journals about his adventures.
I took this photo of our daughter,Amber and Eric last night.  We fixed a big dinner so he could enjoy one more really nice American meal before he returned to Spain.  I also made him pumpkin pie since he won't be here for Thanksgiving or Christmas again this year.  Believe it or not, he and his friend Cody, made a really nice Thankgiving dinner for their friends in Spain last year.  They had to special order a turkey and were asked by the butcher if they wanted the head cut off.
We wish you another fantastic fun filled year Eric!  God Bless!!

If you haven't already signed up for my giveaway, check out my previous post and make sure to follow the directions.  You must leave your comment on that post and leave me an email address if you don't have a blog.  I've been asked where to put the email address and you simply put it in with your comment.  I must have a way to contact the winner.  Thanks everyone for all the sweet comments and for following my blog!

  1. No wonder you are feeling a little blue. I might have to visit Spain for Thanksgiving if I were you. What a treat to have him cook. Hope that you and your hubby have planned something fun over the next few days to take your minds off goodbyes.

  2. It's so hard to say goodbye, even if it's only for a year.

  3. Cathie, a year is a long time! Hugs to you I know it is hard!

  4. Hello Catherine,
This is my first visit to your Blog and I love it! I have always wanted to try my hand at painting and seeing the beautiful work that you do has given me some inspiration. I don't expect to ever create the beauties that you do but if I could just come up with at least ONE painting of my rooster I will be a happy 'camper'. I feel for you now that your son is going back to Spain...all my children live in Canada and I live in Kansas so every time WE leave them up's a tough time for me. My thoughts are with you. Take care. I'm going back to looking at your blog. Enjoy your day.
    Maura :)

  5. BEautiful children! And what an exciting adventure for your son! Nice of you to make him pumpkin pie. That is my favorite and the reason I look forward to thanksgiving.
    Hugs to you,

  6. I'm sure it is so hard to say goodbye to him Catherine...what an adventure he is on, teaching in Spain. That is wonderful that he was able to come home for a visit.

  7. I can understand how you feel, Cathie, it's hard when they leave.

    Big hugs,

Thanks for taking the time to share your sweet comments!
