Yes my hair is now gray.

In case you didn't notice in my previous post, yes, my hair is now gray.  For years I've been coloring my hair and had grown tired of trying to keep the roots done.  If you've never tried to grow your hair out after coloring it with permanent color, believe me it's no treat.  At one point my gray hair scared me so much that I bought a box of Clairol "light ash blond" and now I still have that to grow out.  It's very hard to stay away from the hair color aisle.  I know that some of you will think I've lost my mind, but I'm happy with it now and think I can live with it.  My hubbie loves it and that's all that matters.  I have natural curly hair and have to flat iron it into submission.  Curly dark hair was o.k., but the curly gray hair makes me look like a little old lady with a kinky perm.  Wait a minute, I am a little old lady!

Now in case the gray hair doesn't make you think I've lost my mind, try this recipe out:
Fill some Bugles with peanut butter and then dip the top into melted chocolate.  My daughter and son in law loved them, but I thought they were more work than they were worth.  Try stuffing peanut butter into a 100 or more bugles and see what I mean!

  1. I love you hair color! I've just been bugging Hubby with the question, "Should I color my hair to hide the white hairs coming in or not?" I've always loved white hair on everyone else. I should just let it go. Because I'm LOVING yours!

You are FAR from being a little old lady! Hey, those "bugle" snacks are cute. Didn't know you could still buy them!

  7. I love your hair grey! I did the same thing a couple of years ago...I know we talked about it. It is so much easier and less money!

  8. Cathie I love your hair!

It's been almost 4 years since I gave up coloring my hair. My natural hair color was dark brown, almost black. I started going grey in my late twenties. So I started coloring it dark. About 10 or so years ago, I went a little blonde with highlights, because my hair was so grey, I could get by with that. Well, now I'm natural and absolutely love the freedom from coloring!

PS: I really am a little old lady.:-)

  10. Good for you! I have been tossing that around also for some time. Every three weeks I go through the process and wonder when I am going to just stop it all! This week I was fitted for bifocals, maybe it is time! You look great!

  13. Catherine, You look terrific! I gave up on coloring my hair at 45. It just didn't seem worth the cost and now I really look like a Nana.

  14. Hey Catherine, there are lots of people that look lovely with silver hair...so why can't you have silver hair??? I'm firmly convinced that if you love your own hair, others will too.

  15. Mrs. Catherine you are beautiful with grey hair! I love the pic! Thank you for being such an inspiration -- however, I will probably NOT be trying out the stuffed bugles......wait a minute -- that sounds like something that could keep my 3 girls occupied for hours! Thanks for sharing!!! Love you guys - Les

  16. Well I adore gray hair so I think it looks great. I have not colored my hair and it's doing its streaky thing. My sister allowed her hair to go white and she gets compliments galore on it. So enjoy that time that you've gained from not having to take extra pains with hair coloring and the clean-up afterward. Oh, and you are not a little old woman!

  17. Just love your artwork! Your hair looks great! I feel so old when I am white and do the very light blond thingy, too, ha! Mine started getting white in my 30's and was chestnut brown. Glad you are back posting! Kerrie

  19. You look lovely no matter what color your hair is Cath! Now, I have to know, how did you got the peanut butter into the Bugles? With a very tiny spoon???
Stop by, I'm having a give away!

  20. I have not started to color my hair yet. It's a dirty blond with just a little gray. But I am considering it because my hair is getting so thin and I heard it makes your hair look thicker. I'm just not good at keeping up with anything high maintenance.
