A Little Christmas Glitz, Shopping, and Giveaway Reminder

First of all I want to thank all my dear readers who have signed up for my "giveaway". If you haven't signed up yet, you have until Sunday, Dec. 7th at midnight. Check out my previous post for instructions and make sure you leave your comment on that post and not this one to sign up. Only one entry per person please.
Today I took a much needed day off and went shopping with my dear friend Susie. I scored this cute little lamp at Kirland's in Kansas City, MO for $19.95!
I haven't gotten very far with my Christmas decorating, but will share what I have gotten done.
This is an old Christmas post card of our home as it originally looked. It has been passed down from family to family over the years as the house has taken on new owners. I wish that old evergreen tree was still here.
You can click on any of the photos for a closer view.

  1. Gosh - where do I begin? Your painting techniques are stupendous! What a lovely find of inspiration you are to me...

Love the touches of the season in your home - especially the skates. BTW, how do you enable a picture to be enlarged by clicking on it? I would love to incorporate that into my spot. :)

As a fellow artist, I need to grab a cup of coffee and just soak up your creations and exquisite skill. Unfortunately, it is nearing 2 a.m. and coffee would not do me well. So, I'll have to take this trek of exploration without my cozy cup -

What a find indeed ... will certainly be popping back for visits. Thanks for sharing!

    Blessings,
    Jenny

Your Christmas decor is beautiful. I'm looking for some ice skates. Maybe I'll find them, this year. I found some men's skates last year, but I want ladies skates.

  17. That old typewriter that the postcard is sitting on is so neat! And your house has so much character! Have you ever painted it in one of your works? The fireplace is amazing. I enlarged the picture and I can hardly tell that it's painted and not real trim and embellishments. Great job!

  21. Good morning Catherine...Well, NUTS is all I can say after I realized I missed your latest giveaway. Someone is asleep at the switch and it would seem to be me. : )

Your cupcake painting is wonderful, I love it but I love all your work so what can I say.

You are not alone saying that you haven't gotten a lot done yet for the holidays, I'm in the same boat. I'm putting up my tree this week, finally, but just haven't wanted to do it up until now. Yesterday I also put up a wreath and Christmas flag outside.

Your faux painted fireplace is wonderful and it certainly looks like you've gotten much further then me on the decoration front. : )
